Writing Prompt Resources

(This is a cross post from TJ’s Student Gallery)

Looking for writing prompts?

Here are some places to get lots of them:

http://thewritesource.com/topics.htm#one (by Grade (First – Twelfth))

And here are links to loads more, but these are not by grade:

http://www.enchantedlearning.com/essay/ (these have the prompts on worksheets as well as listed)

http://www.gigglepotz.com/writingone.htm (nice for younger kids, goes by the month)

http://www.canteach.ca/elementary/prompts.html (nice for older kids) lot here

http://www.education-world.com/a_lesson/archives/writing_bugs.shtml (these have the prompts on worksheets as well as listed)

Also, for older kids, these are neat— Quotations a day, there are 180 of them. They can be used for copywork and then have them explain in their own words what the quote means. I was thinking to do the same thing with ayaat/ahadith as well, insha Allah. http://www.educationworld.com/a_lesson/TM/WS_back_to_school_quotes.shtml
