Water Related Ayaat

(Not all inclusive, nor in order)

Use for reading, copywork, handwriting or other assignments

1. [025:048] And it is He Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going

before His Mercy (rain); and We send down pure water from the sky

2. [025:054] And it is He Who has created man from water, and has appointed for

him kindred by blood, and kindred by marriage. And your Lord is Ever All-

Powerful to do what He wills.

3. [015:022] And We send the winds fertilizing (to fill heavily the clouds with

water), then cause the water (rain) to descend from the sky, and We give it to

you to drink, and it is not you who are the owners of its stores

4. [037:067] Then on the top of that they will be given boiling water to drink so

that it becomes a mixture (of boiling water and Zaqqûm in their bellies).

5. [039:021] See you not that Allâh sends down water (rain) from the sky, and

causes it to penetrate the earth, (and then makes it to spring up) as water

springs, and afterward thereby produces crops of different colours, and

afterward they wither and you see them turn yellow; then He makes them dry

and broken pieces. Verily, in this is a Reminder for men of understanding.

6. [067:030] Say (O Muhammad [sal-Allâhu ‘alayhi wa sallam]): “Tell me! If (all)

your water were to sink away, who then can supply you with flowing (spring)

water?”

7. [018:045] And put forward to them the example of the life of this world: it is

like the water (rain) which We send down from the sky, and the vegetation of

the earth mingles with it (and becomes fresh and green). But (later) it becomes

dry and broken pieces, which the winds scatter. And Allâh is Able to do

everything.

8. [011:007] And He it is Who has created the heavens and the earth in six Days

and His Throne was on the water, that He might try you, which of you is the

best in deeds. But if you were to say to them: “You shall indeed be raised up

after death,” those who disbelieve would be sure to say, “This is nothing but

obvious magic.”

9. [056:068] Then tell Me about the water that you drink.

10. [077:027] And have placed therein firm and tall mountains, and have given you

to drink sweet water?

11. [023:018] And We sent down from the sky water (rain) in (due) measure, and

earth, and sends down for you water (rain) from the sky, whereby We cause to

15. [007:050] And the dwellers of the Fire will call to the dwellers of Paradise:

“Pour on us some water or anything that Allâh has provided you with.” They will

say: “Both (water and provision) Allâh has forbidden to the disbelievers.”

16. 035:012] And the two seas (kinds of water) are not alike, this is palatable,

sweet and pleasant to drink, and that is salt and bitter

17. [016:065] And Allâh sends down water (rain) from the sky, then He revives the

earth therewith after its death. Verily, in this is a sign (clear proof) for a

people who listen (obey Allâh).

18. [036:034] And We have made therein gardens of date palms and grapes, and

We have caused springs of water to gush forth therein.

19. [035:027] See you not that Allâh sends down water (rain) from the sky, and We

produce therewith fruits of various colours, and among the mountains are

streaks white and red, of varying colours and (others) very black.

and water springs (Paradise).

21. [032:027] Have they not seen how We drive water to the barren land, and

therewith bring forth crops providing food for their cattle and themselves? Will

they not then see?

22. And We send down water (rain) from the sky, and We cause (plants) of every

goodly kind to grow therein. 31:10

Compiled by Talibiddeen Jr.

23. [030:024] And among His Signs is that He shows you the lightning, for fear and

for hope, and He sends down water (rain) from the sky, and therewith revives

the earth after its death. Verily, in that are indeed signs for a people who

understand.

24. [056:069] Is it you who cause it from the rain clouds to come down, or are We

the Causer of it to come down?

25. [029:063] And if you were to ask them: “Who sends down water (rain) from the

sky, and gives life therewith to the earth after its death?” they will surely

reply: “Allâh.” Say: “All praise and thanks are Allâh’s!” Nay, most of them have

no sense.

26. [014:016] In front of him (every obstinate, arrogant dictator) is Hell, and he

29. [022:019] These two opponents (believers and disbelievers) dispute with each

other about their Lord; then as for those who disbelieved, garments of fire will

be cut out for them, boiling water will be poured down over their heads.

30. [005:096] Lawful to you is (the pursuit of) water game and its use for food – for

the benefit of yourselves and those who travel, but forbidden is (the pursuit of)

land game as long as you are in a state of Ihrâm (for Hajj or ‘Umrah). And fear

Allâh to Whom you shall be gathered back.

31. [010:024] Verily, the likeness of (this) worldly life is as the water (rain) which

We send down from the sky; so by it arises the intermingled produce of the

earth of which men and cattle eat: until when the earth is clad in its

adornments and is beautified, and its people think that they have all the

powers of disposal over it, Our Command reaches it by night or by day and We

make it like a clean-mown harvest, as if it had not flourished yesterday! Thus

do We explain the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations,

laws, etc.) in detail for a people who reflect.

32. [020:053] Who has made earth for you like a bed (spread out); and has opened

roads (ways and paths) for you therein, and has sent down water (rain) from

the sky. And We have brought forth with it various kinds of vegetation.

33. [002.022] Who has made the earth a resting place for you, and the sky as a

canopy, and sent down water (rain) from the sky and brought forth therewith

fruits as a provision for you. Then do not set up rivals to Allâh (in worship)

while you know (that He Alone has the right to be worshipped).

34. [022:063] See you not that Allâh sends down water (rain) from the sky, and

then the earth becomes green? Verily, Allâh is the Most Kind and Courteous,

Well-Acquainted with all things

35. [016:010] He it is Who sends down water (rain) from the sky; from it you drink

and from it (grows) the vegetation on which you send your cattle to pasture.

36. [024:039] As for those who disbelieved, their deeds are like a mirage in a

desert. The thirsty one thinks it to be water until he comes up to it, he finds it

to be nothing; but he finds Allâh with him, Who will pay him his due (Hell). And

Allâh is Swift in taking account.

37. [007:057] And it is He Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going

before His Mercy (rain). Till when they have carried heavy-laden clouds, We

drive it to a land that is dead, then We cause water (rain) to descend thereon.

Then We produce every kind of fruit therewith. Similarly, We shall raise up the

dead, so that you may remember or take heed.

38. [002.164] Verily, in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and in the

alternation of night and day, and the ships which sail through the sea with that

which is of use to mankind, and the water (rain) which Allâh sends down from

the sky and makes the earth alive therewith after its death, and the moving

(living) creatures of all kinds that He has scattered therein, and in the veering

of winds and clouds which are held between the sky and the earth, are indeed

Ayât (proofs, evidences, signs, etc.) for people of understanding.

39. [014:032] Allâh is He Who has created the heavens and the earth and sends

down water (rain) from the sky, and thereby brought forth fruits as provision

for you; and He has made the ships to be of service to you, that they may sail

through the sea by His Command; and He has made rivers (also) to be of service

to you.

40. [006:070] And leave alone those who take their religion as play and

amusement, and whom the life of this world has deceived. But remind (them)

with it (the Qur’ân) lest a person be given up to destruction for that which he

has earned, when he will find for himself no protector or intercessor besides

Allâh, and even if he offers every ransom, it will not be accepted from him.

Such are they who are given up to destruction because of that which they have

earned. For them will be a drink of boiling water and a painful torment

because they used to disbelieve.

41. [107:007] And withhold Al-Mâ’ûn (small kindnesses like salt, sugar, water).

From Interpretations of the Meanings of the Noble Quraan in the English Language Khan/Al Hilali)

(of growth

drink of a cup (of wine) mixed with (water from a spring in Paradise called)

Kâfûr.

45. [080:025] We pour forth water in abundance.

46. [043:011] And Who sends down water (rain) from the sky in due measure, then

We revive a dead land therewith, and even so you will be brought forth (from

the graves).

47. [079:030] And after that He spread the earth,

48. [079:031] And brought forth therefrom its water and its pasture.

49. [055:019] He has let loose the two seas (the salt and fresh water) meeting

together.

50. [056:092] But if he (the dying person) be of the denying (of the Resurrection),

the erring (away from the Right Path of Islâmic Monotheism),

51. [056:093] Then for him is an entertainment with boiling water.

From Interpretations of the Meanings of the Noble Quraan in the English Language Khan/Al Hilali)

Compiled by Talibiddeen Jr.

52. [072:016] If they (non-Muslims) had believed in Allâh, and went on the Right

Way (i.e. Islâm), We would surely have bestowed on them water (rain) in

abundance.

53. [008:011] (Remember) when He covered you with a slumber as a security from

Him, and He caused water (rain) to descend on you from the sky, to clean you

thereby and to remove from you the Rijz (whispering, evil suggestions) of

Shaitân (Satan), and to strengthen your hearts, and make your feet firm

thereby.

54. [041:039] And among His Signs (is this), that you see the earth barren, but

when We send down water (rain) to it, it is stirred to life and growth (of

vegetations). Verily, He Who gives it life, surely is Able to give life to the dead

(on the Day of Resurrection). Indeed He is Able to do all things

55. [051:002] And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water;

56. [021:030] Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth

were joined together as one united piece, then We parted them? And We have

made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?

57. 038:042] (Allâh said to him): “Strike the ground with your foot. This is (a spring

of) water to wash in, cool and a (refreshing) drink.”

58. [050:009] And We send down blessed water (rain) from the sky, then We

produce therewith gardens and grain (every kind of harvests) that are reaped.
