Ok, its a little late considering Ramadan is more than half over, but if you are looking for some copywork to round out your Ramadan, I’ve revised my “Ramadan Quotes” book and turned it into two more copywork friendly versions.
Version 1: For younger students, includes a piece of clip art for each selection; selections are written one per page.
Version 2: For older students, 3 copywork selections per page, no pictures.
There are 30 days’ worth of ayaat/ahadith (except that Ramadan 25, 26, 27, all have the same quote as I coordinated the quotes to go with the “It’s Ramadan!” lessons and those days all have the same theme.
Getting More Out of Copywork!
Obviously copywork can be great for working on handwriting skills, but you can get out so much more, insha Allah!
We did the Ramadan 18 copywork today and we discussed :
- grammar concepts (capitalization, to name one, in the spelling of Ramadan);
- spelling, the importance of proofreading (we still need help in that department)
- and we got a mini Islamic lesson out of it.
- Today’s copywork, was about the fact that the Prophet (salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) exerted even more effort in ibaadah during the last 10 days of Ramadan and kept his family awake also as well to do the same. This hadith was narrated by Aishah, radi Allahu anhaa, and so we discussed that she was a wife of the Prophet, salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam, and that the wives of the Prophet (salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) are called the Mothers of the Believers; believers being the Muslims. We also talked about how we need to step up our ibaadah during these last 10 days as well and a few quick ways we could do so.
So masha Allah, copywork covers many more areas than handwriting.
