Eating Adab Progress/Review Booklet

I forgot to post this the other day when I posted the eating adab lessons….

It’s a short little “progress” booklet, that student can add a “sticker” to after each lesson is complete. Then, when the lesosons are finished, it can serve as a nice little review booklet on Islamic eating adab…..

On another note, I think some of the activities in the lessons would be great for lapbooks.  If you happen to make a lapbook using some of those (or all) printables, please let me know, I’d love to “showcase” it.

Eating Etiquette Lessons

I have finished the eating etiquette lessons.

It is a set of five lessons with coloring pages, worksheets, and other activities.

They are more so for the younger crowd, but I included activities for older children as well………………

Eating Etiquette PowerPoint

I’ve been working on some more resources for teaching Islamic eating etiquette (to add to my Eating Etiquette Guide over a TJ.)

This is an animated PowerPoint for younger kids which goes over some of the main points in Islamic eating etiquette:

I’m also working on a set of lessons that I should have up soon, insha Allah.

(P.S. There is a typo on one of the pages, it should read “..does not criticize” instead of “does criticize.” Insha Allah, I’ll have this fixed soon. The corrected version will appear at the main TJ site, insha Allah.) thanks to the visitor that pointed this out……………

Correction to TJ’s Eating Etiquette Guide

It was recently brought to my attention that a hadith in the Eating Etiquette Guide from TJ has a typo.

On Page 5, it incorrectly reads:

Narrated By Umayyah Ibn Makhshi:
Umayyah was sitting and a man was eating. He did not mention Allah’s name until there
remained the last morsel. When he raised it to his mouth, he said: In the name of Allah at
the beginning and at the end of it. The Prophet (salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) kept eating
along with him, but when he mentioned Allah’s name, he vomited what was in his belly.

The correct hadith  should be:
Narrated Umayyah ibn Makhshi:

Umayyah was sitting and a man was eating. He did not mention Allah’s name until there remained the last morsel. When he raised it to his mouth, he said: In the name of Allah at the beginning and at the end of it. The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) laughed and said: The devil kept eating along with him, but when he mentioned Allah’s name, he vomited what was in his belly.

(The incorrect version reads as if the Prophet (salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam vomited instead of shaytan!).

The hadith is correctly written on page 4, insha Allah.

I truly apologize for this mistake and ask Allah to forgive me. I will make a note of this on the page it appears, insha Allah and will work to correct the error as soon as I can.
